Pharrell Williams’ Louis Vuitton Cowboy Collection…
In a dazzling spectacle that transcended the boundaries of fashion, Pharrell Williams recently unveiled his latest masterpiece at the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2024 show in the heart of Paris. Renowned for his avant-garde creativity and boundary-pushing designs, Williams took inspiration from the rugged allure of the Wild West, transforming the runway into a captivating journey through modern cowboy aesthetics. This extraordinary showcase not only presented a new vision for Louis Vuitton but also celebrated the convergence of art, craftsmanship, and cultural collaboration. Join me as we delve into the intricate details and transformative moments of Pharrell Williams' Paris show, exploring how the designer's unique perspective has once again left an indelible mark on the world of high fashion.
Upon the announcement of Pharrell Williams as the new creative director of Louis Vuitton men's last February, opinions were split. Some perceived his appointment as a business move leveraging his star power, following the remarkable legacy of the late Virgil Abloh. On the other hand, some hailed it as a visionary move, paving the way for a fresh era of multi-talented creative directors. Whether his initial two collections appeased the sceptics or not, this third collection undoubtedly put any doubts to rest.
The collection seamlessly incorporated quintessential elements of the American West, featuring denim as the fabric of choice for select flared pants and shirts, along with nods to the iconic Western aesthetic such as plaid, wool coats, cowboy hats, and subtle cow print accents on belts and “Keepall Bags”. Embracing the roots of workwear inherent to this style, Pharrell Williams collaborated with Timberland to craft a striking collection of ten boots, each adorned with the distinctive LV Monogram logo on the tongue. William’s also introduced fresh interpretations of classic cowboy boots, infusing the house's signature tailoring pieces with a touch of American tradition. Curating a collection that harmoniously melds the heritage of the West with the sophistication of Louis Vuitton.

If you want to make the modern cowboy aesthetic your 2024 fall/winter look, there are numerous angles you can take. A Cuban heel coupled with suede or leather outerwear is a subtle way to achieve this look. However, for the complete cowboy look western shirts, cowboy boots, and boot cut denim are essential. Even a neckerchief, or bolo if you’re set on this style.
If you find yourself leaning towards the more subtle style, any heeled boot will do the job. Boots that seamlessly complement a range of outfits, which can be dressed up or down. View it the same way as if you wanted another everyday trainer—often simpler the better! Pair these with vintage Levi’s or Wrangler Cowboy Cut Pants as a starting point to achieving the “casual cowboy look.” Zara’s recent outerwear collection also boasts a nod to Americana with their suede and denim offerings.
Just remember, you don’t have to be able to ride a horse or own a ranch to pull off this look! But be ready for people to ask you if you do…
