Marian Momoh: Welfare Officer

Marian Momoh is the Welfare Officer for NUFS this year, however many of you may be thinking what does that even mean? Take a look before to find out more about Marian, what her role is and what she can do for you.

 

Who am I?

My name is Marian Momoh and I am a stage 2 Biomedical Sciences student at Newcastle University. I am also a true crime enthusiast and a big music lover.

Most importantly for you guys however, is that I am the Welfare Officer for NUFS.

What does the welfare officer do?

I have a few different things which I do as part of my role however some of these are:

  • Ensure that all society members are safe at NUFS events (so far so good).

  • Ensure that the society is an inclusive space for all of our members.

  • I am the Committee contact for all members who require support.

  • Signpost society members to contacts for further support (where appropriate).

  • Listening ear.

  • Support system of the society

What can you contact me about?

I am here to be your point of contact for anything NUFS related so you can talk to me about anything really. However some suggestions could be if you have any suggestions on how to make NUFS more inclusive. Or accessibility concerns anything NUFS related. Or just any welfare concerns generally.

Welfare drop-in sessions

Our drop in sessions run every 2 weeks during term so please feel free to come and chat to me about anything and everything! Dates are also always included in weekly emails and posted on Facebook if you need to double check
