Victoria’S Secret Fashion Show Review
After *some* controversy, criticism and a nearly 6 year long break, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show came back onto our screens. Let’s discuss if this was a successful comeback.
Firstly, opening the show was Gigi Hadid in a light pink playsuit alongside of course the famous VS angel wings 🪽. The look was well balanced, shimmery and all things Victoria’s Secret and, in my humble opinion, a very good opening to the show.
Many looks stood out; Bella Hadid in a fierce, red lingerie set making her return to modelling and Awar Odhiang with a baby pink set and feather wing galore 🩷.
For arguably the first time we saw a diversity of body types as well as women of all ages. In addition, we saw Alex Consai and Valentina Sampaio who are the first ever transgender VS angels 🩵.
That being said, the diversity of body types wasn’t particularly significant and it left some people wondering if this is to appeal to the public rather than what Victoria Secret itself represents.
In addition, it was surprising to see Tyra Banks walking the runway considering how *problematic* some of her words and actions were during her time as a judge on Americas Next Top Model.
Overall, it seemed like a good show and felt more relaxed than a few of the previous ones. That being said there is still a long way to go for VS, hopefully we continue to see more representation and diversity in upcoming shows.
