Spring Skincare Favourites
Spring has finally set in for good so out with the old winter skincare routine and in with the new one! I’ve been testing out some new products ever since spring started and I have added some new goodies to my favourites list. So if you’re looking for some fresh products keep on reading!
No Clogs Allowed, Soap & Glory
I love a good face mask! And I love a quick mask even more! I’ve been testing out this product for a few weeks now and I feel like it’s doing a really nice job cleaning my pores. But that’s not even my favourite part of this mask. I’d have to say that it is the strangest mask I have tried so far as it goes through a lot of change while it’s on your face, and it drags you through a series of emotions. So you’re supposed to apply it evenly across your face with dry hands. This step is quite cooling and it feels actually nice. The next step requires you to wet your hands really well and start massaging the mask until it turns blue (yes it changes colour). At this stage, it also starts to warm up very quickly and a lot! It DOES NOT burn, it just feels very warm! After that, you’re supposed to leave it on for 5 minutes and wash it off with a washcloth (Do not ignore the washcloth instruction, you’ll regret it).
After you rinse it out your face should be left bright, fresh and surprisingly hydrated which is quite uncommon with other masks of this type.
So overall, this is a great Sunday night mask, when you’re chilling home and you want a nice quick cleanse to start off the week right!
(Electra’s tip: Pair it with one of their sheet masks for the glowiest skin EVER!)
DREAMDUO, GLAMGLOW
I can never get enough moisturisers. I love applying them before bed and in the morning as it makes me feel 100% fresh.
The GLAMGLOW DREAMDUO is a 2 step kit that promises to transform your skin overnight. Now, I don’t know about overnight but I’m always looking for ways to improve and smoothen my skin texture and I also tend to forget to hydrate properly as I run from one place to another during the day.
The first step of the treatment features a serum that detoxifies the skin. After leaving that on for a few minutes so that the skin absorbs it you apply step 2, which is an overnight moisture boosting whipped gel. What I love about this moisturiser is that it perfectly hydrates the skin without clogging any pores or causing any oiliness!
After using this treatment for almost a month now I can say that I have seen definitely some improvements on my face. The most important one for me would have to be oiliness balance and elimination of any dryness.
The surprising thing about this product is how well it works under makeup! The first step specifically creates a perfect surface to apply any foundation on as it’s very hydrating and just a tad bit tacky! Plus, it smells like candy!
Facial Spray With Aloe, Chamomile And Lavender, Mario Badescu
By now you guys know how much I love Mario Badescu’s Facial Sprays! I feel that spring is the perfect time to try out their new Lavender, Chamomile and Aloe Spray!I absolutely 100% been loving this, and I love it so much that I went ahead and got the large size cause I will never get enough of it! It smells amazing and it makes my skin feel amazing.
I use it to tone my face every morning and night, but I also touch up during the day. It works just as well as the other with setting the makeup, so if you’re a fan of lavender I would get this (yesterday!).
Spectaculips Galactic Glaze, Soap & Glory
Yeai lippies! I love a good lip product and I’ve been really feeling the glossy lips lately. Unlike matte lips, they don’t get chapped and they look so nice and plump in the sunlight! I’ve been topping everything with the shade 'Blaze of Glory' because as I’ve mentioned in a previous review, they don't budge and they look amazing over anything and by themselves.
Lip Balm, Chain Bridge Honey Farm
If you’re looking for a more natural finish, I’ve been loving this lip balm! I am a very harsh judge when it comes to lip balms as I need them to be super hydrating. Most of the time I just use vaseline because it never fails me. But I stumbled upon this little gem while I was travelling and I’ve been reaching for it a lot! It's preservative and cruelty free and it's made with Beeswax, honey and a bunch of other natural oils.
The Rushower Dry Shampoo, Soap & Glory
Spring can be a very busy time, and washing my hair is definitely a process for me. A good dry shampoo always saves the day for me and I'm always testing for new ones. Since I love so many s&g products naturally I picked up their dry shampoo to try it out.
I really like the fact that it has s&gs signature scent because it’s very clean and very fragrant. This won't make your hair feel clean but they it will make it look freshly washed, which is what we’re looking for anyway! I love using this one when I’m rushing to a meeting! It is also amazing for adding texture to your hairdo’s without making it feel dry!
I hope the list of my new faves gives you some new things to try out! Do you have any spring skincare favourites? Let us know in the comments!
