Why not Add it to your Skincare Routine?

With the new year kicking in I’m sure most of us are doing some kind of refresh in their lives. The cold is now at its harshest and I know that my skin is not loving it. So, if you’re like me and you’re looking for new, fresh ways to protect your skin from the cold, here are some skin care product recommendations.

      Face

Soap & Glory’s Speed Plump Overnight Miracle

Our faces are probably the most exposed area, so you should be taking drastic measures to protect it. Lately, I’ve been using Soap & Glory’s Speed Plump Overnight Miracle moisturizer and I have been loving it! It incorporates bubble-boost technology that makes it feel like air. The air like texture really takes away the feeling of a heavy or greasy moisturizer but provides the same amount of moisture. It always leaves me waking up with a healthy looking glowy skin, so I would definitely pick it up and give it a go.

Mario Badescu Rosewater

I’ve mentioned this toner spray before, but it is definitely worth mentioning again. Mario Badescu’s Rosewater is by far one of the best, if not the best, things I’ve put on my face. I’ve been spraying my face every morning and night before moisturizing for almost a year now, and the effects I’ve seen on my face are simply amazing! My redness is almost 100% gone, the texture of my skin has improved immensely, and I almost get no blemishes anymore. If you’ve heard others raving about this, their claims are probably true, so I would give it a go if I were you.

Sheet Masks

If you’re not in the Sheet Mask trend yet, do your skin a favour and get on it.  Sheet masks are such a simple way to give yourself a little pampering and the variety out there is huge, even if you’re on a budget. I could go on about face masks forever, but for now, I’ll just recommend some of my faves:

JAYJUN Rose Blossom MASK

I am a hardcore fan of JAYJUN. I’ve tried a bunch of their products and have loved every single one. This sheet mask, although it’s not one of their best sellers, I believe that it is absolutely amazing. It drenches your skin in a rosewater solution leaving it feeling smooth, hydrated and glowing.

Leaders Cosmetics

Leaders Cosmetics is one of my favourites brands and I really don’t know which sheet masks I should recommend. I would suggest browsing their website and choose a sheet mask that targets your problem areas.

Soap & Glory

Soap & Glory has a fantastic line of skincare and I only tried out their facemasks this year. I was very impressed with the quality and the results that I got! I usually target my pores a lot (cleansing and shrinking). S&G’s THE FAB PORE™ PORE-REFINING SHEET MASK really did the trick for me. My skin looked amazing after soaking in this essence and it actually makes a great skin prep before make up, so I would definitely suggest picking it up on your next shopping trip.  You can find the Soap & Glory masks here

GinZing REFRESHING EYE CREAM TO BRIGHTEN AND DEPUFF, Origins

The eye area is such a tender skin area on the face. It’s a pity to neglect it (and kinda risky). What I like to use on my eyes to keep them hydrated and awake looking is this eye cream by origins. I can promise you that you will see a difference from the first day you start wearing it. It does wonders for dark circles and puffy eyes, so even though it’s on the pricier side, I believe that it is definitely worth it!

  Body

Spritz me quick super hydrating mist, Soap & Glory

For the lazy ones or the ones who are simply in a hurry, this hydrating mist is perfect. It takes less than a minute to spray your body with it and it is so hydrating. What I also love about this product is the fresh scent and the packaging. The spray bottle is sturdy, and the pump evenly distributes the product, so a few pumps should cover your whole body!

Once upon a time Solid Body Lotion, Lush

I don’t know if you’ve been introduced to solid body lotions yet-they are an experience. I would say they are definitely more convenient because creams and butters tend to get stuck under my nails (and that's not pleasant). This body lotion by lush smells amazingly fresh! The scent is very relaxing and it is a wonderful way to end your shower. It is more on the oilier side, but it feels amazing and very hydrating. If you like to use hydrating oils, I definitely recommend trying this.

Shower Oil Prodigieux, NUXE Paris

If you’re feeling a bit boujee and body lotion isn't cutting it for you add a shower oil to your routine. Nuxe Paris has an amazing oil which smells like a DREAM. On the product packaging, it mentions that it has a satin finish and that is no joke. Your skin will actually feel like satin and glow like it as well, and on top of that, it will leave you smelling fresh and floral (yes like a DREAM). Don’t question me on this, just try it.

  Hand Creams

Not necessary, but always nice to have. Nobody enjoys sandpaper hands, so just invest a few coins in a hand cream and keep it with you.

Soap & Glory hand food

I know that by this point I’ve mentioned a lot of S&G products, but honestly, not my fault. They are pro’s when it comes to skincare and their hand creams should be the qweens of the hand cream market because they are simply amazing. They absorb fast and are not greasy at all. They will make your hands feel like butter, so take my word and pick one up. You can find Soap & Glory hand creams here

Body Shop

We all know Body Shop’s hand creams. They’re pretty cool. Most of them are great. I would say the shea butter one is the most hydrating of all. The packaging is nice and small and easy to carry. But I really don't appreciate the polygonal cap. It hurts my hands (and takes forever to open). You can find more hand creams from Body Shop here.

Charity Pot, Lush

Lush’s skincare routine is so wide that they will have something for everyone and I do mean everyone. I have pulled out a product that I really loved, the “Charity Pot”. Now this serves as both hand and body lotion, so it is very handy when it comes to travelling and you don’t feel like packing 1000 different products. I really love the smell, as it is very unique. I understand that it may not be for everyone, but I appreciate a nice sweet scent. And the great thing about this product is that 100% of the proceeds are donated!

And that ends my list of recommendations. I hope this was helpful to you and that you were able to find at least one interesting product up there! If you have any other products you swear by, do comment below and let me know!
